The Murdoch in my water

Having listened to more half-baked Why is Sarah Palin So Popular Theories on the weekend, NYMag's leader comes as a relief. Is there some sense in which the thread following an article, if very brilliant, should be a credit to the writer?

'Fox is popular and successful not because Murdoch leads the empire; rather, it makes money because it represents the needle in the haystack that is contemporary journalism. When every publication in a center-right country is unabashedly liberal, the few conservative outlets that exist are destined to succeed in the same way that water will always speed up and becomes more powerful when flowing at a constant rate through a smaller orifice.'

Poetry thy name is a comment on an NYMag thread!!
